WOODSETTON ART POTTERY
Lorraine makes a living by creating useful pots!
"Life without industry is guilt. Industry without Art is Brutality.’’ John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)
Established 1986
Lorraine Bates trained at Bath Academy of Art, studying under many of today's foremost potters and experts in their fields. She regularly exhibits work and is a past chairperson of The Midlands Potters Association.
This website showcases some of her work for leading museums and exhibitions, so most of the pieces shown are one-off examples. If you would like to commission a piece, although no two pieces are exactly alike, you can see examples of the type of work she does in the Gallery. Or visit the Giftware Shop page for pieces you can buy online.
Lorraine is currently working with BBC's "Get Creative" team in conjunction with the creators of "Great Pottery Throw Down" and The Crafts Council "Hey Clay" campaign running open days and pottery courses throughout the year. You can find further details of pottery classes and availability here, and you can purchase a Gift Voucher for a one day course here.
